Who killed Mello (from Death Note) in the anime, and who did it in the manga, how, and why (as in what was their goal/purpose)?

okay, so I know 'why' is a little hard, so just tell me what you know, and unless you say 'because that person was possessed by coconuts' or something totally wrong, I'll give it to you.

Takada killed Mello in both the anime and the manga. She killed him because she was taken hostage and she needed to escape as she would lead Mello to finding out who Kira was.
I request that you draw Matt and Mello giving Ryan a makeover. ^^

Kiyomi Takada killed Mello in the manga with the purpose to get rid of him. I don't watch the anime.
